Compound number 14 · root number 5
Born on 14 October
Mercury · the speed to grasp a thing at once
Root number 5 belongs to Mercury, the messenger, so speaking, writing, reckoning and bargaining all come naturally to you. You can adapt yourself to any situation, and that flexibility has rescued you from trouble more than once.
Compound number 14: The number of speed and risk. There is gain in business, travel and communication, but people with this number have been caught out again and again by financial decisions taken on impulse.
Your three-layer personality
the Sun: Inside, you are built for independence. From childhood, an order given in the wrong tone makes something in you refuse, and you find no peace unless the decision is your own.
Rahu: Outside, you are hardworking and reliable. Give you a task and it gets done, even if the method is not one anybody recognises.
Root number 5 belongs to Mercury, the messenger, so speaking, writing, reckoning and bargaining all come naturally to you. You can adapt yourself to any situation, and that flexibility has rescued you from trouble more than once. But Mercury will not let you sit still. The work that demands patient persistence is exactly where you stumble most. The large gains of your life will arrive when you finally choose one thing and stay with it.
neutral Inside versus outside: The relation between inside and outside is neutral. You can show either face as the situation requires, and that flexibility is your advantage.

The main areas of life
Career
Business and marketing, journalism, writing, accounts, technology, broking, import-export and travel. Your second layer, 4 (Rahu), adds: Technology, engineering, research, electricity and machinery, construction, transport, work with a foreign connection, and any unconventional profession.
Money
Money arrives fast and leaves fast. You have the ability to earn through several channels at once, but speculation and the promise of quick profit are dangerous for you.
Love & marriage
What you want in a relationship is freedom and some fun. Put a chain on you and you move away; give you room to breathe and you come back on your own. More rise and fall in relationships. Whatever happens, happens largely.
Health
Nerves, skin and digestion. Irregular meals and too much worry show up in your body before anywhere else. Also, through Rahu: Nerves, skin, knees and sleep. Feeling unwell for no traceable reason is a familiar complaint under this number.
