Compound number 14 · root number 5
Born on 14 November
Mercury · the speed to grasp a thing at once
Compound number 14: The number of speed and risk. There is gain in business, travel and communication, but people with this number have been caught out again and again by financial decisions taken on impulse.
14 November: the reading for this birthday alone
Those born on the 14th love to keep moving, not to stop. Travel, trade and communication open their hands, and they are quick to spot a new chance. They are not afraid of risk, and that is where care is needed; money decisions taken on impulse have cost them most.
The Sun at birth: Libra · Vishakha. At your birth the Sun stood in Libra, where it is somewhat weak (debilitated). So relationships and balance often matter more to you than your own wishes. Your sense of fairness is strong and your taste refined. Only the habit of leaving decisions hanging to keep everyone happy needs to go.
The Sun sits in the last third of the sign, a portion (drekkana) ruled by Mercury, so quick wit, a head for figures and a ready tongue are added. The Sun in Vishakha means that once you fix a goal you stop only on arriving; you have both patience and grit. Mercury, the planet of your root number, and Venus, lord of the Sun's sign at birth, are friends. So the qualities of your birthday and of your sign pull in the same direction; you are quick to find your path.
Born on 14 November, with the Sun in Libra: four areas of life
Career
There are more chances for you in business, travel, media or quick-decision work. Success comes in law, consultancy, design, fashion, public relations or partnership businesses.
Money
Risky deals bring big gains and big losses; never decide on money in a rush of feeling. There is a tendency to spend on beauty and comfort; keep written agreements in partnerships.
Love and relationships
You want freedom; agree the ground rules with your partner early. Relationships are the centre of your life; do not suppress your feelings just to avoid a quarrel.
Health
Irregular meals and sleep are your weak point; keeping a routine solves a lot. Mind the kidneys, lower back and skin; drink plenty of water.
The Sun’s sign and nakshatra are worked out from the day and month; for a birth close to the day the Sun changes sign, it can shift by a day from year to year. Check the full birth chart to be sure.
Your three-layer personality
the Sun: Inside, you are built for independence. From childhood, an order given in the wrong tone makes something in you refuse, and you find no peace unless the decision is your own.
Rahu: Outside, you are hardworking and reliable. Give you a task and it gets done, even if the method is not one anybody recognises.
Root number 5 belongs to Mercury, the messenger, so speaking, writing, reckoning and bargaining all come naturally to you. You can adapt yourself to any situation, and that flexibility has rescued you from trouble more than once. But Mercury will not let you sit still. The work that demands patient persistence is exactly where you stumble most. The large gains of your life will arrive when you finally choose one thing and stay with it.
neutral Inside versus outside: The relation between inside and outside is neutral. You can show either face as the situation requires, and that flexibility is your advantage.
