Common questions
Which sign should I read: moon sign, lagna or birth date?
Suvolagna’s horoscopes are written for the moon sign (Vedic rashi), so your moon sign’s reading is the main one. If you know your lagna, you can also read your lagna’s sign: the planetary transits are the same, only the houses are counted from the lagna. What is the difference between the moon sign and the lagna?
The moon sign is the sign the Moon occupied at the moment of birth; it is what people mean by “my rashi”. The lagna is the sign rising on the eastern horizon at that moment; it changes about every two hours, so it needs an exact birth time.
What does lagna sphuta mean?
Sphuta means the exact position inside a sign: degrees, minutes and seconds. The sphuta table gives the sign, degree, nakshatra and pada, nakshatra lord, house and retrograde status of the lagna and the nine grahas.
