14 January: the reading for this birthday alone
Those born on the 14th love to keep moving, not to stop. Travel, trade and communication open their hands, and they are quick to spot a new chance. They are not afraid of risk, and that is where care is needed; money decisions taken on impulse have cost them most.
The Sun at birth: Capricorn · Uttara Ashadha. At your birth the Sun stood in Capricorn. Hard work, discipline and long-range planning are your strength; even when results come late, you know how to wait. You do not shy from responsibility. Only do not lose your own joy and family time under the weight of work.
The Sun sits in the first third of the sign, a portion (drekkana) ruled by Saturn, so patience, restraint and a sense of duty run deeper. The Sun in Uttara Ashadha means the final victory is yours, even if late; honesty is your greatest capital. Mercury, the planet of your root number, and Saturn, lord of the Sun's sign at birth, are neutral to each other. Which side grows stronger depends largely on your own choices.
Born on 14 January, with the Sun in Capricorn: four areas of life
Career
There are more chances for you in business, travel, media or quick-decision work. You rise step by step in government service, administration, construction, engineering or large institutions.
Money
Risky deals bring big gains and big losses; never decide on money in a rush of feeling. Income grows slowly but lasts; long-term savings suit you best.
Love and relationships
You want freedom; agree the ground rules with your partner early. Reserved in showing love, you leave no gap in fulfilling your duties.
Health
Irregular meals and sleep are your weak point; keeping a routine solves a lot. Look after the knees, bones and teeth; guard against cold and low moods.
The Sun’s sign and nakshatra are worked out from the day and month; for a birth close to the day the Sun changes sign, it can shift by a day from year to year. Check the full birth chart to be sure.
Your three-layer personality
the Sun: Inside, you are built for independence. From childhood, an order given in the wrong tone makes something in you refuse, and you find no peace unless the decision is your own.
Rahu: Outside, you are hardworking and reliable. Give you a task and it gets done, even if the method is not one anybody recognises.
Root number 5 belongs to Mercury, the messenger, so speaking, writing, reckoning and bargaining all come naturally to you. You can adapt yourself to any situation, and that flexibility has rescued you from trouble more than once. But Mercury will not let you sit still. The work that demands patient persistence is exactly where you stumble most. The large gains of your life will arrive when you finally choose one thing and stay with it.
neutral Inside versus outside: The relation between inside and outside is neutral. You can show either face as the situation requires, and that flexibility is your advantage.
