Born on 14 December
Mercury · the speed to grasp a thing at once
Compound number 14: The number of speed and risk. There is gain in business, travel and communication, but people with this number have been caught out again and again by financial decisions taken on impulse.
14 December: the reading for this birthday alone
Those born on the 14th love to keep moving, not to stop. Travel, trade and communication open their hands, and they are quick to spot a new chance. They are not afraid of risk, and that is where care is needed; money decisions taken on impulse have cost them most.
The Sun at birth: Scorpio · Jyeshtha. At your birth the Sun stood in Scorpio. There is a determination and a depth in you that are not easy to see from outside. You are adept at mysteries, research and handling a crisis. You take time to trust, and once hurt you do not easily forget.
The Sun sits in the last third of the sign, a portion (drekkana) ruled by The Moon, so the heart grows softer and the pull towards people stronger. The Sun in Jyeshtha brings an elder's responsibility early; protecting and leading are in your nature. Mercury, the planet of your root number, and Mars, lord of the Sun's sign at birth, are neutral to each other. Which side grows stronger depends largely on your own choices.
Born on 14 December, with the Sun in Scorpio: four areas of life
Career
There are more chances for you in business, travel, media or quick-decision work. No one matches you in research, investigation, medicine, insurance, minerals or crisis work.
Money
Risky deals bring big gains and big losses; never decide on money in a rush of feeling. Gains through hidden savings and inheritance are indicated; be careful with risky investments.
Love and relationships
You want freedom; agree the ground rules with your partner early. Deep and devoted in love, though suspicion and possessiveness can strain a relationship.
Health
Irregular meals and sleep are your weak point; keeping a routine solves a lot. Take care of the reproductive and urinary systems and of sudden illness.
The Sun’s sign and nakshatra are worked out from the day and month; for a birth close to the day the Sun changes sign, it can shift by a day from year to year. Check the full birth chart to be sure.
Your three-layer personality
the Sun: Inside, you are built for independence. From childhood, an order given in the wrong tone makes something in you refuse, and you find no peace unless the decision is your own.
Rahu: Outside, you are hardworking and reliable. Give you a task and it gets done, even if the method is not one anybody recognises.
Root number 5 belongs to Mercury, the messenger, so speaking, writing, reckoning and bargaining all come naturally to you. You can adapt yourself to any situation, and that flexibility has rescued you from trouble more than once. But Mercury will not let you sit still. The work that demands patient persistence is exactly where you stumble most. The large gains of your life will arrive when you finally choose one thing and stay with it.
neutral Inside versus outside: The relation between inside and outside is neutral. You can show either face as the situation requires, and that flexibility is your advantage.
