Root number 5
Born on 5 November
Mercury · the speed to grasp a thing at once
5 November: the reading for this birthday alone
Born on the 5th means a mind that will not settle in one place for long. New cities, new people, new work: change does not tire them, it keeps them alive. Quick with words and sharp in business, they only need to watch the impatience that lets good chances slip.
The Sun at birth: Libra · Swati. At your birth the Sun stood in Libra, where it is somewhat weak (debilitated). So relationships and balance often matter more to you than your own wishes. Your sense of fairness is strong and your taste refined. Only the habit of leaving decisions hanging to keep everyone happy needs to go.
The Sun sits in the middle third of the sign, a portion (drekkana) ruled by Saturn, so patience, restraint and a sense of duty run deeper. The Sun in Swati makes independence very precious; given room to go your own way, you do your best. Mercury, the planet of your root number, and Venus, lord of the Sun's sign at birth, are friends. So the qualities of your birthday and of your sign pull in the same direction; you are quick to find your path.
Born on 5 November, with the Sun in Libra: four areas of life
Career
In sales, travel and communication work your speed outpaces everyone. Success comes in law, consultancy, design, fashion, public relations or partnership businesses.
Money
Money comes fast and goes fast; set aside a fixed sum every month. There is a tendency to spend on beauty and comfort; keep written agreements in partnerships.
Love and relationships
Monotony is the enemy of your relationships; take your partner out somewhere now and then. Relationships are the centre of your life; do not suppress your feelings just to avoid a quarrel.
Health
Nerves and skin are sensitive; walk regularly to ease restlessness. Mind the kidneys, lower back and skin; drink plenty of water.
The Sun’s sign and nakshatra are worked out from the day and month; for a birth close to the day the Sun changes sign, it can shift by a day from year to year. Check the full birth chart to be sure.
Your three-layer personality
Root number 5 belongs to Mercury, the messenger, so speaking, writing, reckoning and bargaining all come naturally to you. You can adapt yourself to any situation, and that flexibility has rescued you from trouble more than once. But Mercury will not let you sit still. The work that demands patient persistence is exactly where you stumble most. The large gains of your life will arrive when you finally choose one thing and stay with it.
Your birthday is a single digit, so your nature, behaviour and core all share one number. Your personality is simple and clear.
