Compound number 10 · root number 1
Born on 10 May
the Sun · the strength to stand on your own
Compound number 10: The wheel of fortune. The capacity to fall and get back up is in the marrow of this number, so even after losing everything you can build it a second time.
10 May: the reading for this birthday alone
Those born on the 10th know how to get up after a fall. At least once in life everything has to be started again, and real establishment comes with that second start. Confident and keen to live by their own identity, they find that both good and bad come to them on a larger scale.
The Sun at birth: Aries · Bharani. At your birth the Sun stood in Aries, where it is at its strongest (exalted). Confidence and the urge to move forward are plain in your nature. Leadership finds you; the only thing to manage is impatience.
The Sun sits in the last third of the sign, a portion (drekkana) ruled by Jupiter, so knowledge, a sense of principle and the gift of teaching are added. The Sun in Bharani gives the strength to carry heavy duties; the hard phases of life make you firmer. The Sun, the planet of your root number, and Mars, lord of the Sun's sign at birth, are friends. So the qualities of your birthday and of your sign pull in the same direction; you are quick to find your path.
Born on 10 May, with the Sun in Aries: four areas of life
Career
Your real establishment comes with a fresh start or a second career. Work where you can decide for yourself suits you: the army or police, engineering, sport or your own business.
Money
Income rises and falls; save in good times and the lean ones will not bite. Income comes from initiative and goes just as fast; keep an emergency fund.
Love and relationships
You are sincere in love but do not want to lose your identity; when your partner understands that, the bond deepens. In love you are direct and sincere, though words said in anger hurt later.
Health
Energy is good, but sudden fatigue follows overwork; keep your sleep regular. Watch the head, eyes and blood pressure; take care against injuries.
The Sun’s sign and nakshatra are worked out from the day and month; for a birth close to the day the Sun changes sign, it can shift by a day from year to year. Check the full birth chart to be sure.
Your three-layer personality
the Sun: Inside, you are built for independence. From childhood, an order given in the wrong tone makes something in you refuse, and you find no peace unless the decision is your own.
Zero gives nothing of its own, but it multiplies the strength of whatever stands beside it. So the qualities and the faults of your first digit both show up in your life far more sharply than they otherwise would.
Root number 1 belongs to the Sun, and the Sun stands in nobody's shadow. Neither do you. Until you have built an identity of your own, in work, in business or within the family, you will not be satisfied. You decide quickly, and respect matters more to you than money. The one difficulty is that stubbornness sometimes outruns reason. Those born under this number show the same pattern again and again: the ones who learned to listen to the people close to them led for a long time, and the ones who never learned rose high and found themselves alone.
zero Inside versus outside: Zero makes the strength of the first digit denser still. The same note sounds inside and outside, but at much greater intensity.
