Mercury · the speed to grasp a thing at once
5 January: the reading for this birthday alone
Born on the 5th means a mind that will not settle in one place for long. New cities, new people, new work: change does not tire them, it keeps them alive. Quick with words and sharp in business, they only need to watch the impatience that lets good chances slip.
The Sun at birth: Sagittarius · Purva Ashadha. At your birth the Sun stood in Sagittarius. Ideals, a sense of dharma and the ability to think on a large scale are in your nature. Travel, higher learning and the role of a teacher draw you. You speak plainly; just make sure that honesty does not wound.
The Sun sits in the last third of the sign, a portion (drekkana) ruled by The Sun, so self-respect and the instinct to lead grow stronger. The Sun in Purva Ashadha gives strong confidence and a winning mindset; you do not know how to give in. Mercury, the planet of your root number, and Jupiter, lord of the Sun's sign at birth, are friends. So the qualities of your birthday and of your sign pull in the same direction; you are quick to find your path.
