17 November: the reading for this birthday alone
Born on the 17th means rising by passing the test of patience. There is resistance and opposition at first, but they do not let go. They last in administration, finance or large institutions, and leave behind something people remember after they are gone.
The Sun at birth: Scorpio · Vishakha. At your birth the Sun stood in Scorpio. There is a determination and a depth in you that are not easy to see from outside. You are adept at mysteries, research and handling a crisis. You take time to trust, and once hurt you do not easily forget.
The Sun sits in the first third of the sign, a portion (drekkana) ruled by Mars, so courage, fire and the will to fight on are added. The Sun in Vishakha means that once you fix a goal you stop only on arriving; you have both patience and grit. Saturn, the planet of your root number, and Mars, lord of the Sun's sign at birth, are neutral to each other. Which side grows stronger depends largely on your own choices.
Born on 17 November, with the Sun in Scorpio: four areas of life
Career
Your name is made in administration, financial institutions or long, patient projects. No one matches you in research, investigation, medicine, insurance, minerals or crisis work.
Money
Income grows step by step; fortune favours your long-term investments. Gains through hidden savings and inheritance are indicated; be careful with risky investments.
Love and relationships
You are responsible in love; do not neglect your partner under work pressure. Deep and devoted in love, though suspicion and possessiveness can strain a relationship.
Health
Look after bones, teeth and knees; avoid sitting at work for hours on end. Take care of the reproductive and urinary systems and of sudden illness.
The Sun’s sign and nakshatra are worked out from the day and month; for a birth close to the day the Sun changes sign, it can shift by a day from year to year. Check the full birth chart to be sure.
Your three-layer personality
the Sun: Inside, you are built for independence. From childhood, an order given in the wrong tone makes something in you refuse, and you find no peace unless the decision is your own.
Ketu: Outside, you seem serious and hard to read. People do not understand you easily, and you make no great effort to be understood.
Root number 8 belongs to Saturn, who settles accounts. Saturn gives nothing without labour, but he does not short-change labour by a single paisa either. Your life is the story of a slow but solid climb. There is struggle in childhood and in early adulthood, and the position begins to harden after thirty-five. Those born under this number show the same pattern again and again: the ones who gave up halfway in discouragement were left with nothing, and the ones who stayed with it arrived somewhere others could not reach.
neutral Inside versus outside: The relation between inside and outside is neutral. You can show either face as the situation requires, and that flexibility is your advantage.
